Welcome to the website of Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN). BdOSN is a not-for-profit, voluntary organization to promote Open Source (OS) Philosophy in Bangladesh. It was initiated as an umbrella organization of different OS groups and organizations in Bangladesh and now evolves as one of the coordinating hubs for OS related activities in Bangladesh.

Two days workshop on Open Source at NSTU began
A two day workshop and seminar on open source begun in the district of Noakhlai on 26th April 2008. The department of Computer Science and Technology, Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) organized the workshop in association with Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN). Dr Abul Khair, vice chancellor of NSTU inaugurated the workshop in a simple ceremony. Workshop at Chittagong University begins with excitement
The first ever workshop on open source in Chittagong University begins with joy, excitement and in a good learning environment. In a simple inauguration session, the workshop was inaugurated by Professor Dr Md Habib Uullah, Dean, Faculty of Science, Chittagong University. he urged the students to take the technological lead to uphold the freedom of Information Technology of the country. Open Source volunteers celebrated Pohela Boishak
Wikipedians and other members of Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) have urged all to start using Open Source Software and enrich Bangla Wikipedia while celebrating Pohela Boishak, the Bengali new years day. A number of BdOSN activists gathered on the eve of the New Year in front of Dhaka Public Library from 10 am to 12 pm with these slogans on banners and festoons. People around showed great interest about the event and they were served with information on Open Source, Bangla Wikipedia etc. A special leaflet has also been published to mark the day.
