Computer Science Education Week 2025

Computer Science Education Week 2025

Every December, a quiet but powerful movement begins across the globe: Computer Science Education Week (CSEd Week). This year, it will be celebrated from December 8 to 14, reminding us that everyone can learn to understand—and even create—the technology shaping our world.

At the heart of CSEd Week is the inspiring global initiative known as the Hour of Code. It invites students, teachers, parents, and people of all ages to spend just one hour exploring the world of computer programming. In only sixty minutes, anyone can break the myth that coding is complicated or only for a select few. Through fun, accessible tutorials, the Hour of Code turns big ideas into simple, enjoyable learning experiences.

Since 2014, the Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) has proudly hosted this movement, sparking curiosity and creativity among countless young minds. We believe that equipping the next generation with coding skills is essential for building a smarter, brighter future.

This year, BdOSN is inviting everyone to host their own Coding Session! We’re excited to see the energy, creativity, and curiosity that will spark as young learners jump into fun, hands-on coding activities. But the true magic begins with you. Become a coding champion in your community—organize an Hour of Code session wherever you are: at home, in your school, at a community center, or even with friends and family. Just pick a tutorial, spend one inspiring hour, and help someone take their very first step into the world of programming. And don’t forget to capture the moment! Share your photos, videos, and stories using #CSWBd2025 and #BdOSN to inspire others and celebrate the joy of learning together.

Let’s make this December a celebration of creativity, curiosity, and empowerment. Together, we can help every student move beyond simply using technology—and become confident creators of tomorrow.
