A four day preparatory robotics workshop for girls in the Physical Computing category was organized by Bangladesh Robot Olympiad (BdRO) and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) from 8 to 11 March at the BdOSN office in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The workshop was arranged to celebrate International Women’s Day and to support young female students who are interested in learning robotics.
During the workshop, participants received guidance from several distinguished mentors who have represented Bangladesh at the International Robot Olympiad. Zaria Musarrat, Gold Medalist of the 23rd International Robot Olympiad, Marjia Afifa Prithibi, Gold Medalist of the 24th and 25th International Robot Olympiad, and Namia Rauzat Nubala, Gold Medalist of the 26th International Robot Olympiad, shared their experiences and provided valuable directions to the participants.
In addition to the mentoring sessions, the Chief Robotics Coach of Bangladesh Robot Olympiad conducted training sessions on animation, robot building, and several important technical and presentation topics related to the Physical Computing category. These sessions were designed to help students develop both the technical understanding and the presentation skills required for the competition.
Throughout the workshop, students had the opportunity to work on different projects through hands on activities. They also engaged in discussions with the mentors and asked various questions, which helped them strengthen their understanding and further develop their ideas.
The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, marking the successful completion of the program. Bangladesh Open Source Network and Bangladesh Robot Olympiad remain committed to organizing more initiatives like this to encourage girls to explore robotics and to support the development of young creative minds in the field of robotics.
