This is Md. Riasat Islam from Rajuk Uttara Model College. It all started with a simple yet powerful question: “How can AI talk to me like a human?”
It wasn’t just a technical question, it was a spark. A spark that lit a fire of curiosity deep inside me. I was amazed by how machines could mimic human conversations, solve problems faster than we can think, and calculate more accurately than any of us. I needed to find the answer, not just by Googling it, but by truly understanding the soul of AI.
During the month of Ramadan, while the world around me slowed down, I was doing just the opposite. I dedicated the entire holiday to learning Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning. Long hours. Sleepless nights. Countless cups of coffee. It wasn’t easy. But I fell in love with every moment, the complexity, the logic, the magic. Understanding how these models think and learn feels like unlocking a secret universe.
Then one day, my sister introduced me to something that would change everything, BdAIO 2025. An Olympiad that was made for people like me. As soon as I saw it, I knew, this was it.The preliminary round was a storm of logic and algorithms, BFS, Dynamic Programming, Combinatorics but I made it. That victory felt incredible, but I knew the national round would be the real test. And it was. The room was filled with the brightest young minds of Bangladesh. We battled through five hours of AI challenges and competitive programming.
When the contest ended, I sat there during the cultural segment, smiling on the outside but trembling on the inside. My heart was racing. The results were about to be announced. And then, they called my name as a 2nd Runner-up.
For a second, I couldn’t believe it. Then I screamed. I walked up to the stage, collected my medal and trophy, and as I looked around and heard the applause—something changed. I was proud. Not just of the win, but of the journey. None of this would’ve been possible without my parents, my sister, and my friends, they lifted me up when I felt like giving up.
To many, it’s just a competition. But for me, it was a moment of discovery, of finally understanding the answer to the question that started it all: “How can AI talk to me like a human?”
