Mathematics and Science sessions were conducted at Naihati Secondary Girls School, Rupsha, Khulna

On 19th July 2023, Science 2 and Programming -1 sessions were organized for the students of Naihati Secondary Girls School of Rupsa Upazila, khulna under the STEM & ICT Skills for the Girls of Coastal Area (SISGCA) project funded by Malala Fund in association with BdOSN. 40 students from classes 6 to 8 participated actively in these sessions.

The main objective of these sessions was to enable the students to keep pace with science and information technology. Students can increase the spread of scientific knowledge. The trend of education among students is decreasing due to various reasons. Girls lag far behind boys in science and information technology education in coastal areas. Due to various social reasons, village girls are being hindered from getting higher education. Skill will be gained by appearing in various practical tests of science subjects. Students can participate in various science competitions. Students will bring honor to the country by participating in various competitions in the country and abroad.

The Session was started with a welcome note and briefed the session objectives and goals by Shakhira Afroz, project lead, BdOSN. The session was conducted by Mosaraf Hossain Tipu, Coordinator (BDOSN). He introduced the various parts of Scratch programming among the students. Students are given proper ideas about programming. Students were introduced to what it took to use a programming language. A sprite motion block is moved forward, backward, up, and down with scratch programming. He teaches students to create cartoons by moving sprites. Students did the practical tasks with the help of tabs.  Today's world is all about ICT for all learners Important to know. The importance of scratch programming is highlighted, considering the age and skill of the students.

The second session was moderated by Rezaul Islam, Project Executive (BdOSN), and Sifat Sharker, Academic Team Member (MAS Lab), who presented the topic of how to make the students better in their subjects. Students are taught practically in science sessions Rotation speed, pressure tests on balloons, air occupying space, and mitigation reactions with baking soda and vinegar. Airplanes and rockets are shown in oval, cylindrical shapes.

All the students enjoyed the session with active participation. Students are asked quiz questions in sessions. Students who could answer were given books.

Finally, the session was concluded with the permission of the headmaster of the school. All the teachers of the school thanked them for taking the session with the students.
